What happens during a typical coaching session?

I typically check in first on the progress you have made in achieving your weekly and to-date goals and start with a grounding exercise to ensure that we both are present and relaxed for this session. I will ask you to provide clarity on the intentions and what you hope to achieve with goal attainment and let you set goal/s for the week ahead. The rest of the session I will provide you with strategies and tools that will support you reaching your goals, based on my skills and experience, and sometimes academic resources.

what do you mean “we work together”?

We partner in implementing your plan of action and I hold you to what we decide to do. You get undivided attention in one-on-one calls. That is what will solidify your results.

 Change is uncomfortable. I get it, but you are worth it! You don’t have to do this on your own. In case you forget that you are good enough, capable and worth it, I will be there to remind you. Your happiness is important to me.

Absolutely! How often do we meet?

I meet with you once per week for 45-60 min on, Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp Calls, Skype or Zoom Video Conferencing, whichever works best. We work together for a minimum of 10 weeks. Face -to-face, physical meetings can be arranged in South Africa.

Why do you recommend 1-1?

Having participated in group coaching and one-on-one coaching, I believe one-on-one is the most effective way to bring about change. There is more openness and willingness to talk about your current situation, identify blockers and a more personalised action plan can be agreed on. Each week we meet and together, unpack, clarify and gain momentum on reaching your goals. I believe in 1-on-1 coaching because we can address your SPECIFIC needs in just a few months.
